The new upper-level Astronomy books have arrived! Many thanks again to all who supported our Literati Book Fair in February! In fact, the Fair was so successful that we even had enough money to refresh the lower-level Astronomy section, too! Now, Rockets of all ages can explore the wonders of space with clean and current books.
We were also able to add some fun food and nutrition books to our lower-level collection. Yum!

Important Reminder:
ALL Library books are due by May 11th (Mr. Chan's class may have until May 18th).
Please help your student search for their book.
If the book is truly Lost, let me know ASAP as we have a very short window to process the fine and clear the record before the school year ends.

It is almost time for our annual Bookmark Upgrade!
During the second week of May, students will be asked to show me the “special” bookmark they received in September. If they have been responsible enough to hang on to it all school year, they will be able to choose a fancy, “upgraded” laminated bookmark, made by our wonderful parent Cathleen S. <3 <3
Absent on the day I visit your class for Bookmark Upgrade? Don't worry! "Make-ups" will be offered the following week at recesses, during our final Free Books Week of the year.

The RSA Library is endlessly grateful to the Sacramento Region Community Foundation for awarding us with a Whitney Pinkerton Library Book Grant in 2022!
The grant may be "mini," but the impact is not. Our library was able to replace three entire sections of severely outdated upper-level non-fiction with newly published, beautiful hardcover titles.
Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!! <3 <3 <3

Book Club is wrapped for 2021-2022!
This was a long-haul labor of love for Principal Powell and I. And I am so grateful for the financial support of PTA, the trust of our participant families, the help of fellow staff, and the openness of our Club members.
This was an experiment, a pilot program, a trial run. I am ecstatic to be able to report that it was a rousing success! All 19 students provided positive feedback and more than 75% said they would “definitely” join Book Club again. Wow!
Please keep supporting our hard-working PTA so they can keep supporting wonderful programs like this! <3
And please enjoy the little Photo Gallery I’ve created to memorialize this historic first-ever after-school Book Club at Riverview STEM Academy.
